There is Hope

The fact that you searched for help and reading this page means that you believe there is Hope that your situation will improve. You are correct! I have been a clinician for many years and there is not much that I haven’t heard or seen. Life can be rough. However, life can also be rewarding and satisfying. One truth that I have experienced time and time again, is there is always Hope. Things change. People change. Situations change. Life events change. Every minute of every day is a new opportunity for your life to improve. Some circumstances don’t allow for much change, such as the diagnosis of a terminal illness or the loss of a child, but the hope is that you can find meaning and peace in the midst of the suffering.

Seeking therapy is not easy. It can be scary talking about personal thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to someone you don’t know well. However, it can also be tremendously liberating and healing to talk to someone who can listen with an objective, non-judgmental, and compassionate attitude. Therapy is not just for individuals struggling with severe, mental illness. Therapy is for anyone of us who needs professional guidance and support in dealing with a stressful situation. In fact, mental illness is not a requirement to engage in therapy. Some individuals seek therapy to maintain overall wellness and direction in their lives. Others enter therapy to become better spouses, parents, friends, siblings, co-workers, etc. In other words, therapy is for everyone.
